Get to know our CAFOD Westminster Schools Volunteer Co-ordinator Pat!
Why did you decide to volunteer for CAFOD….
“As far back as I can remember I have supported CAFOD and attended an Understanding CAFOD day about 10 years before I retired. I kept it mind in mind as something I would like to do when I retired.”
Pat is now approaching her 5 year anniversary as the Schools coordinator! Congratulations!
Pat volunteers 2 days a week and her role is to liaise with over 220 schools and our team of 18 volunteers, to give all schools across the diocese the opportunity to hear about CAFOD’s work and experience some of the fun assemblies and workshops.
What has been the best part of Volunteering with CAFOD…
“I like getting to know the volunteers and the camaraderie in the office, it’s rewarding to see so many schools visited and money raised. The volunteer meetings are so inspiring and the resources are so engaging and fun. My favourite has to be this year’s ‘Big Fish’ assembly.”
Patricia lives in Enfield and her main love is her Garden and many of the volunteers enjoy a wander round and cup of tea when Pat opens her garden as part of the local ‘Open Gardens’ day in August. Pat enjoys promoting CAFOD in her parish of Our Lady Of Walsingham chapel of Ease, Enfield and is also a reader and helps to arrange the flowers.
Thank you Pat for all that you have done for CAFOD over the years, and we look forward to working with you for many more!
