Working in conjunction with The Archbishop Romero Trust and Pax Christi, CAFOD are delighted to announce that at the start of the Romero Centenary, the Romero Lecture 2016 will be given by Fr Rodolfo Cardenal SJ.
Join us on Tuesday, 1 November at 4pm for your chance to hear from Fr Rodolfo Cardenal, a Central American Jesuit and Director of the Monseñor Romero Centre at the UCA, the Jesuit University in El Salvador.
The event will be taking place at: Amigo Hall, Southwark, Lambeth Road, SE1 7HY.
About Fr Rodolfo Cardenal:
Fr Rodolfo Cardenal is a Central American Jesuit and Director of the Monseñor Romero Centre at the UCA, the Jesuit University in El Salvador. He is a surviving colleague of the six Jesuit martyrs killed on the UCA campus in 1989 at the height of El Salvador’s civil war. He is a historian and has written the biography of his Jesuit confrére, Fr Rutilio Grande, assassinated in March 1977 and now on the road to beatification. Rodolfo has chaired the History Commission which documented Rutilio’s story for the beatification cause. Fr Cardenal will be the guest of the Archbishop Romero Trust in Britain from 31st October until 5th November 2016. He will speak about Fr Rutilio and the impact his martyrdom had on Blessed Oscar Romero.
