This years Harvest Fast Day focuses on Niger and El Salvador. Niger was struck by a food crisis in 2011 when crops began to fail due to drought. In 2012 Geoff, along with representatives from other British aid agencies, met with President Issoufou Mahamadou at a high level government meeting to discuss the crisis. Geoff will tell us more about the situation in Niger and the ongoing work that CAFOD is doing to support those affected.

As well as a talk from Geoff, the day is a chance for vlunteers to meet and discuss ideas, to learn more about Harvest Fast Day and CAFOD’s work in Niger and El Salvador, and to get a first look at this years resources. In the afternoon there will be a Speaking at Mass workshop for those giving the CAFOD talk in their parish this Autumn.

Lunch provided!
