Congratulations to CAFOD Westminster office volunteer, Sr. Carmel Ring, who celebrated 50 years of religious life yesterday!
Friends from all areas of Sr. Carmel’s life, including fellow volunteers and staff from CAFOD Westminster, joined her yesterday evening for a celebratory Mass at her parish, Our Lady of Muswell, Muswell Hill, followed by a party in the parish centre.
Having taken her vows to become a Religious Sister of Marie Auxiliatrice in 1965, Sr Carmel spent eight years working as a missionary in Cameroon, teaching catechism and broadcasting religious programmes over the radio. Before retiring, she also worked as a school teacher, as well as helping to organise and run an after school chess club.
Now, 50 years since she entered the religious life, Sr. Carmel continues to fight against injustice and stand in solidarity with people living in poverty in her voluntary work for CAFOD.
So from all at CAFOD Westminster, thank you and congratulations Sr. Carmel, and best wishes for the future!
