London to Brighton for CAFOD!

Eleanor Heans-Glogowska, Diocesan Officer at CAFOD Westminster shares her experiences doing the London to Brighton bike ride for CAFOD!

“On the morning of 7 September it was with some trepidation that I made my way to Clapham Common for the start of the London-Brighton bike ride. Back when I signed up for it in January I had grand plans for an extensive training programme which never quite transpired…

Still, I put on a brave face and my CAFOD t-shirt and made my way to the start line!IMG_2284

Once we left London we were rewarded with a lovely ride through the countryside into Sussex. However, our biggest challenge, climbing Ditchling Beacon lay ahead…

But once we reached the top we were rewarded with an amazing view! IMG_2289

The final part of the route is a brilliant freewheel ride through the Downs and into Brighton.IMG_2287

We finished on the seafront and a refreshing paddle in the sea! IMG_2290

If you want to get on your bike for CAFOD look out for updates on CAFOD Westminster’s annual Pedal against Poverty. In the meantime we have our Nativity Run coming up on 6 December 2014.
