Green energy is an important part of reducing our carbon footprint. How about finding a nice ethical, green energy supplier? Even better, how about a 100 per cent green energy supplier who will donate money to CAFOD’s work tackling poverty when you switch?

CAFOD Westminster Office volunteer, Frances Halliday, found just that when she switched to Ecotricity. Frances heard a talk about Ecotricity when she attended CAFOD’s One Climate, One World campaign event in July, and decided to switch when her fixed rate ended in September. She says:

“Using green energy will help reduce my carbon footprint and by using Ecotricity I will be funding sustainable energy projects. Ecotricity uses its customers’ energy bills to fund the building of new sources of Green Energy, what they refer to as turning ‘Bills into Mills’ – energy bills into windmills.

I would encourage anyone who has the opportunity to consider Ecotricity for both their electricity and gas. Plus, if you let them know you are a CAFOD supporter when you switch, they’ll donate to CAFOD!”

Ecotricity are a UK-based company and the world’s first green electricity company. Their mission is to change the way electricity is made and used in Britain. They offer 100 per cent green electricity and Britain’s greenest gas. All of Ecotricity’s profits go back into their mission – meaning that they use their customers’ energy bills to fund the building of new sources of green energy.

What’s more, Ecotricity will donate £40 to CAFOD’s work overseas every time a supporter switches their electricity to Ecotricity, or £60 if they switch both gas and electricity.
