Step Into the Gap is a once in a lifetime chance for young people passionate about helping others to witness and get involved with CAFOD’s work, both here in the UK and in some of the world’s poorest communities. Gappers will be involved in a wide range of activities, from working with young people in schools and parishes, to going on a four week overseas visit to one of our many partners in Africa, Asia or Latin America. This is a unique chance to meet incredible people, hear amazing stories and gain an intimate understanding of the work carried out by CAFOD and its partners.

Naomi, who previously took part in Step Into the Gap, said:

“It has been an empowering experience for me in all aspects – from community living and youth ministry in my placement, to our visit to CAFOD partners and projects in Sierra Leone – allowing me to grow spiritually, emotionally and in my own global awareness.”

The programme runs from September 2014 to July 2015, with participants receiving accomodation, a monthly allowance, travel expenses, training, support and mentoring.

The closing date for applications is Monday, 31 March. If you would like to find out more, and to apply for a place, visit www.cafod.org.uk/stepintothegap or email youngleadership@cafod.org.uk.

If you think there might be young people in your parish or school who would be interested in this incredible opportunity, why not download a Step Into the Gap flyer or poster to put on display?
