A big thank you goes out to the Holy Family Friday Group, from the Church of the Holy Family in Welwyn garden city, for organising a ‘Strawberry Tea Party’ to help raise money to support CAFOD’s work in the developing world.
The summer garden party took place on the 21st of July in glorious sunshine and helped to raise a total of £173 to support CAFOD’s work around the world. This is enough to provide training and equipment to help three families in flood prone areas establish their own crab farms for food and extra income.
Thanks again to the Holy Family Friday Group for organising the event, and to everyone who attended or lent their support. With Harvest Fast Day on the horizon, now is a great time to organise a fundraiser or sponsored event in your parish or school. You could hold a frugal lunch or prayer service to mark the day in solidarity with those who do not have enough to eat. If you would like support or advice in how to do this, or if you would simply like to let us know about your great work and be featured on our blog, get in touch with us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 0208 449 6970.
