Step Into The Gap – Application for 2013 now open!

Are you aged between 18 and 30? Are you looking for a life-changing experience that will take you from the UK to some of the world’s poorest areas? Do you want to help with a great cause while developing skills you will be able to rely on in other areas of life? Then CAFOD might have the gap year programme for you!

Michael Thompson and Anna-Therese McGivern from the Step Into The Gap programme taking part in the Tea Time for Change lobby of Parliament in June 2011.

Step Into The Gap offers you a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to explore your faith and to put that faith into action. Successful applicants will be involved in a wide range of activities, from working with young people in schools and parishes here in the UK, to going on an overseas visit to one of our many partners in developing countries. In previous years, this has included visits to places such as Kenya, Ghana, Sierra Leone and Liberia. This is a unique chance to meet incredible people, hear amazing stories and gain an intimate understanding of the work done by CAFOD and its partners.

The programme will run between September 2013 and July 2014. During this time you will be provided with travel, accommodation and living expenses, both in the UK and abroad. You will also be offered training and support as needed throughout the course of the scheme.

The closing date for applications on 30 April 2013. To find out more about the scheme and to download an application pack, visit the Step Into The Gap webpage by clicking here.
