Are you ready to Step Into The Gap?

Are you aged between 18 and 30? Are you looking for a life-changing experience that will take you from the UK to some of the world’s poorest areas? Do you want to help with a great cause while developing skills you will be able to rely on in other areas of life? Then CAFOD might have the gap year programme for you!

Young volunteers Lara, Emet, Theo and Holly preparing for the trip of a lifetime as part of the Great Generation

Step Into The Gap (SITG) is offering you a once in a lifetime opportunity to explore your faith and to put that faith into action. Successful applicants will be involved in a wide range of activities, from working with young people in schools and parishes here in the UK, to going on a four week overseas visit to one of our many partners in developing countries. This is a unique chance to meet incredible people, hear amazing stories and gain an intimate understanding of the work done by CAFOD and its partners.

The programme will run from September 2012 to July 2013. During this time you will be provided with travel, accomodation and living expenses, both in the UK and abroad. You will also be offered training and support as needed throughout the course of the programme.

Don’t delay – the closing date for applications is Monday 9th July, with interviews on Wednesday 18th July for which you must also be available.

If you want to find out more about the scheme you can visit the SITG webpage by clicking here or follow this link to download the programme leaflet.
