Mark your calendars and dust off your helmets, as we’ve set the date for this year’s Pedal Against Poverty! CAFOD’s annual sponsored cycle ride will be taking place on Sunday, 12 June 2011. Riders can choose between a shorter 10 mile journey from Cheshunt to Broxborne, and longer 18 mile ride from Ponders End Lock to Broxborne. Both groups will meet in the country park for a picnic lunch.
Last year was our biggest year ever, with nearly 200 riders participating. Through Pedal Against Poverty, CAFOD Westminster has raised over £12,000 for projects in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. This year, we hope to raise nearer £15,000, or enough to bring clean water to 20 Latin American shanty towns. Everyone is welcome (though those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult), so bring your bike and your friends and join us for a great day out in June!
